The Natwest Bank at 15, The Cross, Neston closed in 2015. In 2016 it is being renovated as the Elephant Pizza Bar.
The renovations exposed a room with tiled walls, that had been part of Mr Swift’s butcher’s shop. More details will be in the newsletter of Neston Civic Society, in notes on a talk by Adam Mitchell in July 2016.
Plans dated 1934, when the building was converted into a bank, can be seen on the website Neston Past.
High up on the outside wall is the crest of the Westminster Bank, which merged with National Provincial Bank, to form the Natwest Bank.
