Art & Stage

Little Actors Theatre Company – Little Actors Theatre Company specialises in providing community based, performing arts activities for children and young people.
Neston and District Art Society – Meetings are held every fortnight on a Monday evening, with a monthly demonstration / talk, followed two weeks later by a practical / social evening. Meetings are held at St Michael’s Church, Little Neston, all meetings start at 7.30pm and lasting for approximately two hours.
Neston Flower Society – An active, dynamic group who meet every month for classes, meetings and talks. We meet on the third Thursday of every month, (except August) at Neston Civic Hall.
Neston Players – The society was originally formed in 1952 by Ron Kidd, a minister of the Presbyterian church who originally gave his merry troupe the name “Neston Presbyterian Players”. We welcome absolutely everyone, whether you have a hunger to act, try your hand in a backstage role or get involved in one of the many and various other activities. We have an abundance of opportunities and there’s a space for you whatever your skills or experience.
Wirral Theatre School – A family feel school established in 1990. Offering dance, drama and vocal coaching Exams, competitions, annual shows and holiday fun clubs

Charities

Age Matters CH64 – In the Autumn of 2108, AGE UK decided to replace volunteer advisers with a telephone contact for many of their outlets. The local operation has been managed by Anne Jones, a resident of Neston, for some 24 years at the Methodist Church.
Cameo Club – Run by the Parkgate & Neston United Reformed Church. Providing support and activities for those suffering from memory loss and for their carers. Activities include games, art and gardening, and a light lunch around midday.
Charlotte’s Tandems – Lend, throughout the UK, at no cost (i.e. for free), tandems and tag-alongs to (and only to) people with disabilities or additional needs, who are unable to ride a bike safely on their own, so that they can enjoy the wonders of cycling.
Mathews & Monk Charity – Following the deaths in the late 1800s of Nessie Mathews and John Monk, two local Neston people, each bequeathed a sum of money to Neston Parish Church for the Vicar at that time to distribute to poor and needy persons living in the Parish of Neston. Today, by holding fundraising events and donations received, the Trustees continue the Charity’s work by distributing Christmas gifts, by way of Sainsbury’s vouchers, to needy people local to the area of Neston.
Neston and District Christian Aid Committee – Christian Aid’s motto is “We believe in life before death“. The organisation undertakes charitable work in 50 countries through local organisations to deliver direct, practical benefits, and campaign to challenge the causes of poverty.
Neston Fairtrade Town – The group campaigns to promote fairly traded products.
Neston Female Society – The society’s motto is ‘Bear ye one another’s burdens’. The motto says it all: help one another. The society is open to all females from the age of fifteen, and all members pay a modest annual fee of £4 each.
Neston Royal British Legion – Neston Royal British Legion is a long-established Branch and has the distinction that four VC holders, earned in the Boer War and the First and Second World Wars, resided in the area.
Northern Lights Children’s Charity – Northern Lights is a charity set up in memory of Christopher Johnson, who died in 1987. The charity raises funds to give children with life-limiting illnesses the unique experience of a special holiday they will never forget to Lapland to meet Father Christmas.
Parkgate Pony Sanctuary – Established in 1984 as Badger’s Memorial Pony Sanctuary, and renamed in 1998.
Willaston & South Wirral Rotary – Rotary Club of Willaston & South Wirral is part of Rotary International which was founded in 1905 by Paul Harris in Chicago and is the largest humanitarian service organisation of business and professional men and women in the world.

Friends of Hadlow Road Station – The inaugural Meeting of The Friends of Hadlow Road Station was held on 2nd March 2015. On two Sundays each month, the Friends operate a café at the station where you can buy light refreshments, bacon butties and cake.

Special Interests

All About Women (Neston) – A new support group for women who live in the Neston area has opened. Aimed at women who experience mental health problems and/ or social isolation, the group is facilitated by women who themselves have had, experience of mental ill health.
Alpine Garden Society
Cheshire Gardens Trust – The Manor Gatehouse Club, which used to meet in Burton, closed at the end of 2018. The Garden Visits Group, formed by John Hinde, county organiser for Cheshire and Wirral, continues to arrange visits, by coach, to an outstanding garden in the North West or Wales once a month.
Neston Duplicate Bridge Club – The club meets at Neston Methodist Church, on Wednesdays at 7pm for a 7.15pm start. They offer friendly but competitive duplicate sessions. Visitors, ideally in pairs, are always welcome. Contact Carole Roberts for more information on 0151 336 5246.
Neston Earth Group – A community group formed in 2019 based in Neston passionate about improving our local environment. We meet once a month to discuss ongoing projects and community initiatives.
Neston Photo Friends – We are a group of keen amateur photographers from the Neston and surrounding areas who meet to share our enthusiasm, ideas and skills for the benefit of all members. If you enjoy taking photographs, have a camera, want to take pictures and wish to partake in Photo Walks and Shoots then Neston Photo Friends is probably for you!
North Cheshire Classic Car Club – The club was formed in April 2009 with 9 members, since then the club has grown steadily and we now have 38 members. We meet at The Hinderton Arms on the last Monday of each month from 7.30pm.

Willaston Village Festival Society – Willaston Village Festival Society was founded in 2007 to organise a major Festival in Willaston every three years.
Wirral Classic Car Club – Wirral Classic Car Club caters for enthusiasts’ of older vehicles and offers a wide range of events, shows, meetings and social runs. There is a monthly Club Night on the last Wednesday of the month from around 8 pm, at the British Legion, Heswall.

Sport & Leisure

Burton & Puddington Bowls Club – Social bowls every weekend, evening and afternoon friendlies. Mixed, Ladies, Gents & Chester League games.
Manor Walking Club – The Manor Gatehouse Club closed in December 2018 but the Manor Walking Club continues. The Secretary and web manager is David Green, who is happy to receive applications for membership.
Neston Badminton Club – Based at Neston Recreation Centre, Raby Park Road Neston, CH64 9NQ. The club meets every Wednesday 9pm – 10pm.

Neston Crown Green Bowling Club – Based at the Civic Hall, Hinderton Road in Neston, is one of the most successful local clubs and is keen to promote the game within the community and attract new players. We meet on a Sunday Morning, weather permitting, at 10.30am during the season. Contact the club’s Secretary, Bill, on 07939 544062 for full details.
Neston Nomads Junior Sports Club – The club was founded in 1983 by Bruce Munnerly and Ian McKellar, with coach Colin Jones, and support by Frank Heseltine. Bruce Munnerly retired as Chairman in 2020.

Neston Hockey Club
Phoenix Shooters Association – A small, friendly target shooting club serving the Wirral and Cheshire Area. We shoot on the Sealand Ranges, as well as local clay pigeon layouts. We shoot Rifles, muzzle-loading pistols and shotguns, and have a collection of club guns for new members or guests.
Wirral Sub-Aqua Club – We are a friendly branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club, (BSAC), who meet every Thursday at 8.30pm at Neston Recreation Centre. Our aim is to safely enjoy and actively promote scuba diving, in this country or abroad.

Hadlow Green Women’s Institute – Hadlow Green Women’s Institute meet in Willaston Memorial Hall at 7.45pm on the second Tuesday of the month.
Ness & Little Neston Women’s Institute – The Ness and Little Neston Women’s Institute is a friendly and active group that meets on the first Tuesday afternoon of the month from 2 to 4 p.m. at the URC Church Hall, Parkgate Road. Please contact NessandLittleNestonWI@outlook.com for full details.
Neston Riverside WI – Meetings are held at the Methodist Church Hall, Mellock Lane, Little Neston, Neston, CH64 0TN on the third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm.

URC Mens Group – We are a group of local men of all types & persuasions who usually meet the last Wednesday of every month from 10am to 11.30am in Neston for an informal natter, coffee, talk from a speaker or visit. If you would like more information, please call Brian Mac on 0151 336 8486.

2375 Air Training Corps – The Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) – the largest youth organisation in the UK is second to none in providing a meaningful structured foundation for developing individual responsibility and integrity in young people.
Brownies in Burton, Little Neston, Neston & Willaston – Brownies is for girls aged seven to ten. Through meetings, special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays, Brownies learn hobbies, play music, explore other cultures and get adventurous outdoors. Cheshire Army Cadets – Neston & Parkgate Detachment. If you are aged 12 to 18, want to aim higher, feel more confident and get a head start on your future join the Army Cadets. Thursdays 7.30pm – 9.30pm at Parks Field, Station Road, Parkgate, CH64 6QJ.

KidZ Street Dance – Based in Neston Community Youth Centre, our classes have a funky, vibrant, energetic style focussing on technique and performance but with an emphasis on FUN.
Wirral Way Junior Parkrun – On Sundays at 9 a.m. children from 4 to 14 run 2km along the Wirral Way from Station Road Parkgate to Boathouse Lane, and back. You need to register before your first run.
