A Christmas message from the Mayor of Neston
As we come together with our friends and family at this special time of year let’s not forget the true meaning of Christmas – thinking of others, helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves, and remembering to be present. For it is those small acts of kindness that affirm our purpose not the grandiose things, the number of presents or the size of the Christmas tree but those who are around it.
A particular highlight of my Civic Year so far has been working with Neston’s Junior Council – watching how the children have grown in confidence through their roles and becoming visible to the public, whilst watching their delight at turning on the Neston Christmas lights. A special moment in a busy year.
Thank you to those who have supported Neston throughout the year. May I ask you to continue to do so over the festive period and look in on elderly neighbours who would welcome the visit of a friendly face, or enjoy a shared meal.
I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year 2025.
Councillor Sion Jones, Mayor of Neston.
