Ness Coronation Celebration

Ness community celebrated the coronation of King Charles III in 2023. Inspired by a photo of the Ness community celebrating the coronation of King George V in 1911, the community decided to create a photographic record of how the coronation was celebrated for King Charles II. Residents took photos of their celebrations and sent them to be compiled into the montage picture shown on this gallery. Also in the gallery is the photograph from King George V’s Coronation in 1911 that inspired the montage.

The project was sponsored by Neston Town Council and also Cheshire West & Chester Council.

The Ness Neighbours held Coronation Coffee Morning and unveiling of the Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee tree. Participants were given a free commemorative tin of biscuits and a Neston Town Council ‘Neston Celebrates the Coronation’ bag for each family, the event was funded by Neston Town Council.
