The Good Life Gallery
Read the story of the first year on an allotment plot – A year in the life of our first allotment – Autumn 2020 to Autumn 2021.
In July 2020 an enthusiastic new ‘allotmenteer’ took on an overgrown plot…and by July 2021 this is what they had achieved. It’s not just about fruit and vegetables, allotments are beautiful and a haven for pollinating insects providing Late summer plants in abundance, such as sunflowers which provide food for the hardworking bees. It was worth the long wait for the cucumbers which were fabulous when ready to be picked and by September the allotment grapevines were in full fruit. We even grow our own tea here and our allotment Chicken siesta’s in the late autumnal sunshine under the vines.
